• Development of active and smart materials (with antimicrobial and antiviral capacity) for the improvement of food safety
• Development of micro- and nano-encapsulation systems for the protection of various bioactive ingredients of interest in functional foods
• Use of advanced characterization techniques (scattering and diffraction of X-rays and neutrons) to improve knowledge about the relationship between structure and properties of polymers and biopolymers
